Autism/Sensory Processing Disorder/ Sensory Integration Dysfunction

Chronologically Controlled Developmental Therapy is a multi-system approach for sensory processing disorders, autism and
sensory integration dysfunction.

Using environmental stimulation, CCDT workds to first rebuild the earliest levels of sensory-motor function, especially those
developed in the preantal time period before focusion on progressively higher levels of funciton.

This approach includes snesory factors, environmental controls, and movement activites in a closely controlled environemnt
and sequence to re-establish the background information necessary to regain progressive control of functional skills.

For many of the mannerism and self stimulating behaviors of autistic children these are very high cortical stimulating behaviors.

We believe they exist because the central nervous system is out of balance and there is disorganization at the lower more
automatic portion of the nervous system.

The central nervous system must have input that makes sense for its postural and attentional function. Because the lower more
automatic systems are disorganized they a higher portion of the nervous system that requires attention and is less automatic for
that input.

CCDT exist to organize those lower portions of the nervous system, brain stem, spinal cord so that the nervous system comes
into a better balance so there will be less of a need for self stimulating behavior by the system.

CCDT has been used to help with autism, high functioning autism, Aspergers, sensory integration dysfunction, sensory
integration disorder and other sensory motor dysfunctions.
